We made the decision to use limestone tiles for our pool deck, hoping for a beautiful and durable flooring solution. Unfortunately, our experience with the material has been quite disappointing. The high level of porosity in the limestone led to the development of unsightly brown stains on our pool deck, causing us great concern.

Upon contacting Stone Mart regarding the issue, we were initially informed that the staining was likely due to incorrect installation. After replacing the stained tiles with new ones of the same material, we were disheartened to discover that the problem persisted, indicating an inherent flaw in the limestone itself. This realization was frustrating and disheartening, as it meant that our efforts to address the issue were in vain.

Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to remove all the limestone flooring and opt for travertine as a replacement. While limestone may exude beauty in a showroom setting, our practical experience with it was marred by its tendency to absorb and display unwanted brown hues from the environment.

In conclusion, our journey with limestone as a flooring choice was fraught with challenges, leading us to seek a more suitable and reliable alternative in travertine. Our hope is that by sharing our experience, others may make informed decisions when considering materials for their own projects.
