We have now taken our pup to healthy spot for about a year or so and we love it! Our dog is very sensitive and every groomer we tried would leave some kind of razor burn or even huge gash on him. We went to so many different places… And tried so many different people and finally we found Benji! He has never hurt Mateo and he makes him look so adorable. It has been the best thing we can’t ever lose him!!!!

I've tried to move on from the incident, but it's been over a year and my dog is still severely impacted.

I brought my 1 year old 9lb Havanese in for a shave. About 40 mins into the grooming session, I got a call from Healthy Spot saying there had been an accident and she's at the animal hospital from a cut on her leg.

4 stitches later in her little puppy arm, she hasn't been the same since. The cry she cried when I showed up to the animal hospital was the saddest thing ever.

To top it off, she now bites ME after the experience she had there; it's heartbreaking. I love my little puppy so much, I've never given her a reason to fear me.....until I brought her to Healthy Spot. She lost trust in me that day - ugh, writing that out makes me cry a little.

I've had to put her on daily anti-anxiety medication, which has helped a bit, but every now and again, she will get triggered if you're near her injured leg and will bit the heck out of your hand (she bit me yesterday which is what sparked my already existing anger towards Healthy Spot so figured I could at least write a review).

First, why on earth are you using scissors for a shave and HOW are you using those scissors to cause that much damage Healthy Spot told me "the groomer was moving too fast."

Healthy Spot paid for the vet bill (however, they still haven't paid for the follow up after her injury got infected). I also asked them to give me some pajamas/body suit because she was depressed in the cone, and she also wasn't eating so I asked if there was any food Healthy Spot could give me that dogs usually gobble down quickly because its so good lol. I also suggested they provide professional training to help my dog get through this.

They gave me a goodie bag of food and some pajamas. The staff and management in store were very nice, and my anger isn't with them - It's with upper management.

I had a few follow up calls from upper management (after I had reached out many times) asking how my pup is doing. Those stopped after a month or so. Nothing about the training.

I handled the entire situation calmly and was empathetic to the fact accidents happen. I'm starting to wonder if I should have been angrier. In fact, whenever I tell the story people say "OMG, are you going to sue them?!" Well, I'm not that kind of person and I just want my dog to be happy again, what's suing going to do?

But here I am a year or so later, no groomer will take her because she will attack the heck out of them, she's even had to go under anesthesia once for a groom, she now bites which means I need to be concerned she could bite other people (not just me) and now I'm training myself to be a groomer. I have to put a muzzle on her, she's on daily medication, my finger is getting infected as I type from the bite yesterday -- she's absolutely, and rightfully, terrified (and I'm absolutely heartbroken). She needs professional help and I don't think it's unfair for me to think Healthy Spot should be proactive and offer to pay for services to help my dog get back to how she was - TRAUMA. FREE.

I also noticed there was a class action lawsuit against Healthy Spot Grooming...

The incident that happened to my dog happened AFTER the class action lawsuit closed. All to say, I would be careful bringing my dog there (to any Healthy Spot). My dog is not the same 🙁

I brought my puppy for his first haircut. The staff are nice and professional. The place is clean. It was very crowded when I arrived and chaotic. I requested a trim to half his fur length but it is still too long and getting matted by his hind legs just two day later... it's expensive but I feel like he needs another trim....I am grateful for the 1st time customer discount.

Okay, first off I just want to say that this has been the CUTE-EEST little pet store ever, I’ve been recommended this place a few times to get recommendations for my HIGHLY picky HIGHLY sensitive cat. I spoke to the manager about some cat food / treats recommendations, he was very helpful and very personable… safe to say I left with a little more than just food and treats, it has been a few months since & my Gamora LOVES the food, and she hasn’t had any tummy issues. 10/10 recommend this place.

My mini Aussie puppy had her first ever grooming this week at Healthy Spot. I showed Laura, the groomer, photos of some Aussies I found on the internet, and she did exactly the same trim for mine. My puppy looks the prettiest I’ve ever seen her! So fluffy and soft. I’m truly happy with my experience and will come again.

Have been to two healthy spots and the experience in both has been the same; they are happy to have you and your pet in their store and are so helpful in helping you find the right products for your furbaby. Have gladly faced DTLA traffic and parking for a trip here with my pup.
