Kandiyohi County Landfill - New London, Minnesota

I have to haul brush routinely in other counties, and I know not all details of how to go about it let alone the fees are up front or on the website. I was trying to clarify these details and I get the usual low-class trailer trash snarkiness the SW Minnesota region is known for. Professional counts even at a landfill. Not impressed, no wonder so many residents of this county have trash in their yards for months and years at a time.

In order to answer a question you first need to actually listen to a question. I see alot of trash in the yards that is metal, recyclable metal. And since metal is difficult to break down into pieces to recycle in a recycling bin, it often sits waiting for scrapers.

Yet there appears to be no charge for metal recycling at the landfill, and since most of the website information pertained to prices not content of whats accepted that lends to why so many metal large pieces sit in yards for years at a time. If there was an ease to dispose/recycle certain items there might be more scrapers and thus less trash on people's property.

Since the landfill's focus is on prices not process, and certainly not customer service; recyclable metal its in residential property for years at a time. I've seen the same lack of curb appeal in the Dakotas which doesn't recycle at all. A drive through those states you will see trash-strewn residental properties unless they are new developments or rental properties.

Would have rated it higher but since the new rules came into effect for 2017 it makes it a bit more expensive to haul your own garbage here. It's also more confusing as to which pricing applies to what day. Make sure to check the website. If it wasn't for the amazing lady in the scale shed and the scrawny smart a** in main building this place wouldn't be half as good!!

I have a problem where the website says that it's open but then it's not open. I have driven out there from Willmar and there been closed gates. I think the website should reflect the present status of the business so if you could update that so that it's more accurate that would be greatly appreciated.

Need to update there website says open Saturdays till 12 get there and they have a sign that says only open 2nd and 4th Saturdays starting November. Why is this not posted on there main google site. Wasted most of my day because they won’t come into the 21rst century.

A little disappointed this Saturday. showed up to dump some items and the website said that the place was open until noon. once I got there the gate said closed and the sign says 2nd and 4th Saturdays open only! little upset that it cost me 2 hours out of my day to run up there for nothing!

Would be nice if they were open on Sunday too, but that's okay, was very easy.

Garage price is high. And the hours they are open aren't convenient at all for individuals.
