If you're looking for an exceptional sushi dining experience, SU is the place to be! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a wonderful evening.
A huge shoutout to the incredibly talented sushi chef, Alex, who truly elevated the meal to another level. Every piece of sushi was crafted with care, but the Big Eye Tuna stole the show—absolutely divine! It's easily my new favorite and a must-try for any sushi lover.
I also want to give a special thanks to Emily, my wonderful server, who went above and beyond to make the night special. Her cocktail recommendation was spot-on and paired perfectly with the meal.
SU has set the bar high for sushi dining, and I can’t wait to come back for another unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

We had a great dinner at the sushi bar and the food and service could not have been better. We had a nice bottle of sake and order a variety of dishes. Loved the tempura green chile stuffed with shrimp, the mixed fish tartare and the nigiri and rolls were great. They had otoro which is an all time favorite. Highly recommend and next time we’ll try the Omakase.

This was honestly the best sushi I’ve had, not just in NM, but in a long while. All the flavors were perfectly stated and the fish was fresh and tender.

Our waitress, Alondra, was gracious and attentive. And chefs Alexander & Sayra prepared everything impeccably.

Please make time to visit if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.

I love sushi and have lived in New Mexico for 24 years, and this is by far the best sushi I’ve had here. I wish I had taken photos. It was extremely fresh, excellent cuts, and absolutely beautiful.

Alondra was a gracious and attentive waitress, and Alexander & Sayra were incredible chefs. I will 100% be back and can recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Good food, Alexander the chef was incredibly nice and helpful, worked under Japanese chefs and it shows! We had the Omakase meal and it was super worth the value and delicious!

This was disappointing and I felt like I put money down the drain which is a bummer. I’ve eaten a lot of legit Japanese food, and this is comparable to typical strip mall fare at premium prices.

First of all they offer gyoza which I think are frozen dumplings with store bought sugar chili sauce marked up 1000%. This is embarrassing compared to actual gyoza which would cost much less.

The sushi is just not up to standard for how much they’re charging. If you’ve had legit sushi, stay away from this place.

Example: I was crestfallen when I got the pinnacle of what bad sushi is- a tin foil wrapped piece of supermarket Atlantic salmon baked on overcooked rice with a sugary sauce. Apparently nobody knows this would be an abomination in any respectable place.

The vegetarian options were better than the standard fare, but they don’t particularly align with a sushi restaurant. I think our server disappeared a few times and might’ve gotten into a dispute with the chef which was awkward.

We had an amazing dinner last night at Su Sushi! It’s located in a beautiful historic building, which is very cool. The service was perfect, the sashimi and nigiri were soooo fresh & delicious! We tried quite a few things from the menu. We’ll definitely be back. Plus, the drive there is so beautiful. Everyone was very friendly, including the owner who was walking around checking on all of the tables. Highly recommend! ?

Excellent food and service. Not your typical sushi joint. Everything they serve seems to have more flavor. We were delighted to try their green chili stuffed with shrimp, fish cakes, yellowtail roll, Toro ( fatty tuna) special and more. Nice cocktail and wine options. Will be returning soon! SU is located inside of El Nido in Tesuque. Plenty of parking.
